Teach Kids How to Un-Leash God's Potential.
Each week kids will look at a different household pet and learn a fun lesson about living for God
Lesson Overview:
Ants: Anyone with an ant farm knows that ants work hard, without complaining. We can learn to work hard as if working for the Lord.
Cat: Cats love to stray, but they always come back to where their food is. Kids will learn the story of the prodigal son, and know that God always wants us to come back to Him.
Dog: Kids will learn a lesson in friendship and loyalty from the story of David and Jonathan. ??Hamster: Hamsters roll around in little hamster balls. They can see their world, but they're not really experiencing it. Are you experiencing all God wants for you, or just looking out the window? Kids will be challenged to look for ways to step out of their comfort zone to live for God.
Lizard: Lizards need a warm light because they love to bask in the sun. We need have the same passion to be close God.
Turtle: Kids will learn that God has called us to be the light of the world and that we need to come out of our shells to share his love with the world.
Goldfish: A goldfish in a bowl can't feed himself. If we don't feed him, he's a goner. We need to "feed" ourselves spiritually through worship, Bible study, and prayer so the Spirit does not die within us!
Hermit Crab: Hermit Crabs steal their shells from other animals, rather than growing their own. Kids will learn they need a personal relationship with Jesus instead of sharing a friend or family members faith.
Parakeet: Have you ever seen a sad parakeet? Neither have I. Parakeets are always singing, always joyful. We can have joy when we live for Christ, and no one will be able to stop our singing either.
Rabbit: Rabbits multiply fast. We can multiply the kingdom of God by becoming Christians who share our faith with others.
Snake: Snakes can be good pets, but also dangerous. Many people get rid of snakes when they get too big. Kids will learn that if we don't flee from temptations around us like Joseph did, then it can eventually hurt us.Â
Tarantula: Spiders seem really scary, but are often friendly pets. The stories of Saul and David's anointing teaches us that God does not look at the outward appearance, but rather at the heart.
