As Christians, we're supposed to be in the world but not of the world. That means not just hiding in church but actually going out and meeting and talking to non-Christians. If we don't show them the love of Jesus, who will? If you go out into the world, you will probably see and hear things you'd rather not see or hear. And that's hard. But the world desperately needs Jesus, and it's up to us to shine his light in this dark world, not just hide our light in church. And whatever trouble we face out in the world will be worth it if it means bringing more people with us to heaven. In order to tell the world about Jesus, we need to be in the world.
